Travel & Transportation

We are so grateful that many of our loved ones will be traveling to celebrate this special day with us. To make your trip a little easier, we have gathered helpful information about Dallas airports, transportation options, and ways to get around the city with comfort and peace of mind.

✈️ Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, DFW

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, also known as DFW Airport, is one of the largest and busiest airports in the world. Spanning more than 26.9 square miles, DFW is so large that it feels almost like its own little city, complete with its own zip code and emergency services. With five terminals, more than 160 gates, and a little over 2,000 takeoffs and landings per day, it serves as a major gateway for guests traveling into the Dallas area to celebrate with us.

Since DFW is a large airport, it offers helpful ways to move between terminals with ease. Guests who are already past security can use Skylink, the airport’s train system that connects all five terminals. For guests who need to travel between terminals before going through security, Terminal Link shuttle service is also available. With clear signs throughout the airport and a little extra time, getting around DFW can be smooth and stress-free.

The DFW Airport app can be a very helpful travel companion for guests flying in or out of Dallas. Through the app, travelers can check flight updates, view security wait times, explore interactive terminal maps, look up dining and shopping options, check parking availability, and even prebook parking. It is a simple way to keep important airport details close by, especially in a large airport like DFW where a little planning can make the trip feel much smoother. Guests can learn more about the app here: DFW Airport App .

Guests using rental cars, rideshare services, taxis, or airport parking may want to plan ahead so pickup, drop-off, and returns feel calm and simple. A little extra time can make the whole airport experience much more peaceful, whether you are arriving with excitement or heading home with sweet memories from the wedding.

DFW offers several transportation options, including Uber and Lyft, taxis, rental cars, airport parking, and DART public transportation. Guests renting a car can use the airport’s Rental Car Center, with free shuttle service between the terminals and the rental car facility.

Guests who prefer public transportation may use DART rail service from DFW Airport to connect into Dallas and surrounding areas. Since routes and timing can vary, we recommend checking your route ahead of time to make sure it works well with your hotel and travel plans.

A little travel tip: DFW is a large and busy airport, so giving yourself extra time can make arriving or departing feel much smoother. Checking your flight status, terminal, baggage details, security wait times, and transportation plans ahead of time can help your trip feel calm, easy, and full of excitement.

🛬 Dallas Love Field Airport

Dallas Love Field Airport, also known as DAL, is a wonderful option for guests flying into Dallas. Love Field is smaller than DFW and can feel a little easier to navigate, with one terminal and 20 gates. Located at 8008 Herb Kelleher Way, Dallas, TX 75235, it may be especially convenient for guests staying near downtown Dallas, Uptown, or other central Dallas areas.

Dallas Love Field is most closely known as the home airport for Southwest Airlines, which operates the majority of flights from this airport. Guests may also find service from Delta Air Lines, and JSX, a public charter-style airline that offers a smaller, more boutique travel experience from Dallas Love Field. Because airline options can change, we recommend checking your preferred airline directly when booking your trip.

Dallas Love Field offers several transportation options, including Uber and Lyft, taxis, rental cars, parking, and public transportation. Guests should follow airport signs after baggage claim to find the correct pickup areas for rideshare, taxis, shuttles, or rental car transportation.

Guests who prefer public transportation can use DART connections from Dallas Love Field. The Love Link shuttle connects the airport to the Inwood/Love Field Station, where guests can connect to DART rail service into Dallas and nearby areas.

A little travel tip: Love Field is often a convenient option for guests staying near downtown Dallas, Uptown, or other central Dallas neighborhoods. We still recommend checking your flight status, baggage details, transportation plans, and travel time ahead of time so your arrival or departure feels peaceful, simple, and full of sweet wedding-weekend excitement.

🚆 Dallas Area Rapid Transit, DART

Dallas Area Rapid Transit, also known as DART, is the public transportation system that helps connect Dallas and several surrounding cities through rail, buses, paratransit, rideshare-style services, and airport connections. DART can be a helpful option for guests who prefer not to rent a car or who want a simple way to explore parts of Dallas during their visit. DART also connects to DFW International Airport and provides access to Dallas Love Field through the Love Link shuttle connection.

To use DART, guests can plan their trip ahead of time through the official DART website or the GoPass app. The GoPass app allows riders to plan routes, buy passes, view system maps, check service alerts, and track buses and trains in real time. We recommend entering your hotel, destination, and travel time before heading out so you can see which rail line, bus route, or connection works best for your plans.

DART can be a convenient and budget-friendly way to get around certain parts of Dallas, especially if you are staying near a rail station or visiting areas close to downtown. It can also be useful for airport travel, since the Orange Line connects to DFW Airport and the Love Link connects Dallas Love Field to Inwood/Love Field Station. However, Dallas is a large and spread-out city, so DART may not be the fastest or easiest option for every trip. Depending on where you are staying, rideshare, rental cars, or taxis may be more convenient.

As with any public transportation system, we encourage guests to stay aware of their surroundings while using DART. Travel with someone when possible, keep your personal items close, check your route before boarding, and avoid waiting alone in unfamiliar areas late at night. DART can be a helpful option during the day and around busy stations, but we recommend using your best judgment and choosing the transportation option that feels safest and most comfortable for you.

DART serves 13 cities in the Dallas area, including Dallas, Addison, Carrollton, Cockrell Hill, Farmers Branch, Garland, Glenn Heights, Highland Park, Irving, Plano, Richardson, Rowlett, and University Park. The DART Rail system includes the Red, Blue, Green, and Orange lines, with all lines passing through downtown Dallas. For guests staying near downtown or close to a DART station, this can be a nice way to reach certain neighborhoods, airport connections, restaurants, museums, and places to explore during the wedding weekend.

🚋 M-Line Trolley

For a fun and charming way to explore parts of Dallas, guests may enjoy riding the M-Line Trolley, also known as the McKinney Avenue Trolley. This historic trolley travels through Uptown Dallas and connects to areas near Downtown Dallas, including West Village, Klyde Warren Park, the Arts District, and other popular spots. It is a sweet way to see the city with a little extra character and old-Dallas charm.

The M-Line Trolley is especially nice for guests who are staying near Uptown or downtown and want to explore restaurants, parks, museums, and walkable areas without needing to drive everywhere. It can also connect with DART at CityPlace/Uptown Station, which may be helpful for guests using public transportation during their visit.

To ride, guests should wait at a designated M-Line stop and wave to the trolley driver as the trolley approaches. When you are ready to get off, you can ring the bell or pull the overhead cord so the driver knows to stop at the next designated stop. It is a small detail, but honestly, very charming.

The trolley usually runs every day, with service times that vary by day of the week. Guests can check the current route, schedule, and live trolley tracker before heading out here: M-Line Trolley Route & Schedule .
